Abstract
The pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19 disease) places, until now (April 22, 2020), the Republic of Ecuador as the third country with the highest overall mortality rate in the Region of the Americas [1,2]. This disease is likely to continue affecting the most vulnerable Ecuadorian population and, particularly, a risk of contagion for workers who must return to their workplaces in the coming weeks and months [3].The technical guidelines for action to guarantee the protection of workers against SARS –CoV-2 (COVID-19) offer companies a wide number of guidelines for action to return to work activities in Ecuador. From a health perspective, measures to control COVID-19 will only be successful in applying guidelines and if the entire working population is protected. Professionals in occupational health and safety of companies will be the benchmarks and essential part for strengthening epidemiological surveillance systems in national public health.
